SB-16-016 Enhanced DCU (Dosing Control Unit) software has been released to address the following conditions: Illumination of the check engine light. The DCU may falsely detect an issue and record any of the 3 following DTC?s in the DCU. P142A(DEF pump temperature sensor - Out of range) P204B(DEF pressure sensor ? Rationality) P20A1(Reverting valve for DEF pump stuck close) In rare cases, the completion of the after-run process might be mistakenly aborted. This occurs when the ignition key is cycled back on and then off prior to after-run completion. If this occurs when ambient temperatures are below freezing and the urea is allowed to fully freeze, internal damage to the DEF pump may occur. Once damaged, urea could migrate into the DEF pump electrical connector and SCR harness resulting in corrosion. This corrosion could result in detection of any combination of SCR(Selective Catalyst Reductant) DTC?s including but not limited to: P142A(DEF pump temperature sensor - Out of range) P208A(DEF pump motor circuit - Open load) P208B(DEF pump motor - Functional) The enhanced DCU software prevents the after-run process from being aborted prior to completion.
