NHTSA Complaint #11681385 — 2015 FORD EXPLORER

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard a loud flapping sound coming from the windshield. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V031000 (Structure). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was determined that the A-pillar trim had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer ordered the parts and informed the contact that parts needed to be reordered due to the parts being damaged upon arrival. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
