The contact stated that the message "See Owner’s Manual" was displayed on the instrument cluster. The contact stated that the Owner’s Manual suggested that the ignition button should be placed in the off position for 10-seconds. The contact stated that the suggestion failed to work, and the contact waited until the vehicle ran out of fuel. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer. The dealer informed the contact that water from a drain tube had leaked onto the power control module and caused a short circuit. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 39,878.
