NHTSA Complaint #11638393 — 2024 GMC YUKON

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Yukon. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle jerked and the vehicle failed to accelerate above 45 MPH. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power. The contact pulled off the roadway. The contact stated that the failure occurred while driving uphill. The vehicle was towed to the dealer ,where it was diagnosed with a possible engine failure; however, the contact was informed that the engine needed to be disassembled to confirm the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
