NHTSA Complaint #11614130 — 2018 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that whenever it was cold outside, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the vehicle after starting the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the cam phasers and the timing chain was skipping. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
