NHTSA Complaint #11611584 — 2018 FORD F-150

The contact's partner owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, an abnormal rattling sound was coming from the vehicle without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed with cam phaser failure. The contact was informed that the cam phasers needed to be replaced and was provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but offered no assistance. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
