NHTSA Complaint #11602413 — 2018 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the vehicle t was rattling and vibrating abnormally until the engine had warmed up. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated the failure was intermittent but had become a recurring failure. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the cam phaser needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had researched online and related the failure to the manufacturer's Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N03 Cam Phaser replacement (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact called and informed the manufacturer of the failure and was informed that the vehicle was not included in the Customer Satisfaction Program. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
