NHTSA Complaint #11592990 — 2024 VINFAST VF 8

The advanced driver assistance systems , specifically lane departure and emergency steering control system engaged with out warning and caused forced automated steering control. The car swerved rapidly right and left in the lane causing violent body roll and loss of control of the vehicle. Attempts to manually control the steering only made the issue worse . The adas system just added more force . Emergency braking was required to disconnect the assisted steering . The steering control is turned on by default on each start up of the car. So it's active each time the car is driven . Conditions were dry road , two lanes , one direction each way .line markings only in center of road , none on outer edge s. Speed 80 kmph lane keep assist engaged by default. Refer to NHSTSA ID NUMBER 11579510 MARCH 26 2024. The report describes exactly what happened to the vehicle . The Adas can't detect the lane on the highway causing sudden and random steering correction and over correction. This is a documented issue with the NHTSA
