NHTSA Complaint #11542065 — 2018 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and was jerking with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed with a cylinder #2 misfire. The contact attempted to add coolant however, the coolant started leaking from an unknown location. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the head gasket needed to be replaced. The dealer was contacted and stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 63,116.
