NHTSA Complaint #11532774 — 2014 GMC ACADIA

The contact owns a 2014 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a routine inspection; however, the contact stated that she was informed by the technician that the vehicle failed to shift into gear as needed. The contact stated that she was informed by the technician that while shifted into reverse(R), the technician attempted to shift back into drive(D), but the vehicle failed to shift. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle remained at the dealer and had not yet been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in a recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 156,000.
