NHTSA Complaint #11503849 — 2022 TOYOTA COROLLA

The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH, he depressed the brake pedal while approaching a red traffic light; however, the vehicle failed to stop. Due to the failure, the vehicle skidded and crashed into two vehicles in front of the vehicle, and the vehicle to the right. The air bags failed to deploy upon impact, and the Forward Collision Avoidance feature failed to operate as needed. The contact struck his head on the steering wheel and later sought treatment by a chiropractor for pain to his lower back and neck. Another driver involved in the accident was injured; however, the exact injuries were unknown. A police report was filed. The contact was able to drive the vehicle away from the scene. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was 8,800.
