NHTSA Complaint #11487877 — 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that an independent mechanic had previously replaced the rocker arm, camshaft, and coil packs; however, the failure recurred while driving at an undisclosed speed. Additionally, and the vehicle was making abnormal ticking sounds. Additionally, the headlights were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with two bent valves in the engine. The vehicle was then taken to Stan McNabb HWY 55 Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM FIAT (1200 E Carroll St, Tullahoma, TN 37388) where the computer was replaced; however, the dealer determined that the engine also needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.
