Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2015 BMW 428i. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle lost power steering functionality. The message; Electrical Malfunction. Contact Service Center was displayed. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road using physical strength to steer the vehicle. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle regained power steering assist functionality. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the Electric Power Steering (EPS) had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 141,425.
