Consumer Description

I PURCHASED 2014 FORD ESCAPE SE WITH BRANDED TITLE FROM CAR AUCTION. AFTER RECEIVING CAR FROM TOW TRUCK, I STARTED CAR ON MY DRIVE, FEW MINUTES LATER VISIBLE SMOKE START COMING FROM THE ENGINE, AND I ALSO NOTICED OVERHEAT FROM ENGINE. I STOP THE ENGINE. NEXT DAY I STARTED CAR, AND EXPERIENCED SAME PROBLEM. I CONTACTED TWO RIVERS FORD - MT JULIET, TN. FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT ASKED ME TO BRING CAR IN THEIR SERVICE. THEY CHECKED CAR, AND COMMUNICATED FORD MOTOR AND FORD LEGAL SERVICE WHETHER TO FULL FILL RECALL PROCEDURES FOR BRANDED TITLE CAR. AFTER 20 DAYS, THEY CALLED ME. THEIR DECISION IS NOT TO FULFILL RECALL. THEY SAID FORD WARRANTIES NOT COVER BRANDED TITLE CARS. CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. AND MY CAR PROBLEM SEEMS PRIMARY RELATED TO RECALL ISSUE. ENGINE OBVIOUSLY EXPERIENCED OVERHEAT BEFORE SINCE PLASTICS OVER THE ENGINE WAS MELTED.
