Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE INCREASED TO HIGH IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN UNKNOWN MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE COOLANT TEMPERATE SENSOR FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT CALLED LITHIA FORD LINCOLN OF ROSEBURG (LOCATED AT 1650 NE STEPHENS ST, ROSEBURG, OR 97470, (541) 537-4643) TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
