Consumer Description

THERE WAS A LEAK FROM THE RADIATOR FLUID INTO THE ENGINE BLOCK THAT RESULTED IN A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. THERE WAS NO WARN LIGHT SUGGESTING THAT THE COOLANT LEVEL WAS LOW, WHICH MAY HAVE PREVENTED THE PROBLEM. THERE HAS BEEN A FACTORY RECALL FOR THIS EXACT SITUATION ON THE EXACT SAME MAKE MODEL AND YEAR OF MY VEHICLE, BUT SOMEHOW MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED RECALL LETTER FROM FORD'S SITE. THIS IS MY ONLY CAR I HAVE SAVED UP TO GET AND REPAIRS OF THE HEAD GASKET WOULD BE $3000. HOWEVER, FORD WILL NOT REPAIR IT BECAUSE THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT GUARANTEE THE REPAIR DUE TO THE ISSUE WITH THE LEAK. THEY HAVE SEEN THIS SEVERAL TIMES. THEY WILL ONLY DO A FULL ENGINE REBUILD OR REPLACEMENT FOR $8000 BECAUSE THEY ADMIT THAT THIS IS A FACTORY DEFECT. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE SHAWNEE MISSION FORD (11501 SHAWNEE MISSION PKWY. SHAWNEE, KS 66203) IN DESPERATE NEED OF A RECALL. THIS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE 35 FROM OMAHA TO KANSAS CITY
