Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FELIX SABATES FORD LINCOLN (7601 SOUTH BLVD, CHARLOTTE, NC) TO BE REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE DEALER'S REPRESENTATIVE TOOK THE CONTACT'S KEYS AND DECLARED THE VEHICLE TO BE A ROAD HAZARD DUE TO THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE DEALER REFUSED TO RETURN THE VEHICLE DUE TO ADDITIONAL DAMAGES CAUSED BY OIL LEAKING INTO THE COOLANT. THE CONTACT REQUESTED DOCUMENTATION, BUT THE CONTACT REFUSED DUE TO THE DAMAGES BEING ATTRIBUTED TO THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH AN ESTIMATE OF THE DAMAGES AND REQUESTED THAT THE DEALER PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 69,000.
