Consumer Description
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 VOLKSWAGEN EOS. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER FRACTURED AND DESTROYED THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. UPDATED 12/13/2017 *LN *TR
