Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD ESCAPE. WHEN THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE FAULT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND THE VEHICLE RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (TASCA AUTOMOTIVE GROUP LOCATED AT 1300 PONTIAC AVE, CRANSTON, RI 02920; (800) 788-2114) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BOOST AND MAT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE SPLICES ALSO NEEDED TO BE SERVICED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. A MONTH LATER, ON JULY 6, 2017 WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE ENGINE FAULT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND THE VEHICLE RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AGAIN WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE SPLICES NEEDED TO BE SERVICED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-241-3673 AND STATED THAT THE CONTACT NEEDED TO CALL NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,243.
