Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND UNOCCUPIED, IT BECAME ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE WAITING FOR PARTS FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V393000 (STRUCTURE). THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT AN INVESTIGATOR WOULD INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
