Consumer Description
TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY GOING TO SWITCH TO THE FAST LANE AND THE ENGINE REVERTS TO IDLE SPEED. THE ENGINE DOES NOT TURN OFF AND NO LIGHTS COME ON BUT RPM'S GO DOWN TO AROUND 900 AND THE ENGINE DOES NOT RESPOND. I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR BUT NOTHING HAPPENED I PUT IT BACK IN DRIVE AND PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AGAIN AND THE ENGINE RECOVERED, IN THE MEAN TIME THE VEHICLE SLOWED CONSIDERABLY AND CARS WERE APPROACHING FROM THE REAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES BUT AGAIN AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE ENGINE RECOVERS. I NOTIFIED VW AND BROUGHT THE CAR INTO A DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED AND NOTHING WAS FOUND. I DON'T WANT TO BRING IT BACK TO THE VW SERVICE BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL OF THE TIME.
