Consumer Description
MY 2010 KAWASAKI VULCAN VOYAGER (AND PER MANY KAWASAKI FORUMS) OVER HEATS WHILE OPERATING AT SLOW MPH, I.E. TRAVELING THROUGH SMALL TOWNS.THE TEMP WAS ABOUT 71 DEGREES, MY VEHICLE OVERHEATED EVERY TIME IN WENT THROUGH A SMALL TOWN. MY INSIDE OF MY LEG WAS BURNT FROM THE HEAT OFF THE EXHAUST. THERE IS NO PROTECTION FOR DRIVER OR RIDER.KAWASAKI KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM AS I HAVE RESEARCHED IT AND THE FORUMS HAVE VOLUMES OF REPORTS FOR THIS ISSUE AND MANY CONTACTS WITH KAWASAKI DEALERS AND FACTORY REPRESENTATIVES. THIS IS A DANGEROUS DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. I HAVE ALSO RESEARCHED AND LEARNED THAT KAWASAKI HAS ADMITTED TO THE PROBLEM BY FITTING NEWER VOYAGERS WITH A K.A.M.S. SYSTEM INSTALLED. KAWASAKI OFFERS A SOLUTION FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE VOYAGERS PRODUCED BEFORE SOME TIME IN 2012. THEY CALL IT THE K.A.M.S. BUT THEY WANT THE CONSUMER TO PAY ALMOST $400.00 FOR THE PRODUCT, PLUS LABOR WHICH I HAVE HEARD THE COMPLETE SYSTEM PARTS AND LABOR RUNS BETWEEN $800.00 AND $1200.00. THE VEHICLE WILL STALL AND SHUT OFF WHEN IT IS HOT AS WELL AS SURGE, THIS COULD CAUSE INJURY OR CRASHES AS THE VEHICLE NOW BECOMES UNRELIABLE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC OR AWAY FROM ON COMING TRAFFIC AND BEING REAR ENDED DUE TO THE SHUTTING OFF STALLING ISSUE. MY MOTORCYCLE ONLY HAS UNDER 500 MILES.THE MOTORCYCLE SHOULD HAVE PROTECTIVE DEFECTORS TO GUARD AGAINST THE HEAT FROM THE EXHAUST AND TO DEFLECT IT AWAY FROM THE PASSENGER AND THE RIDER.MOTORCYCLES ARE NO LONGER JUST PLEASURE VEHICLES BUT A COMMUTER FOR WORK AND OTHER ACTIVITIES. COMPLAINT FROM THE CONSUMERS SHOULD CARRY THE SAME AMOUNT OF WEIGHT AS TRUCKS AND AUTOMOBILES. KAWASAKI PRODUCED THESE VEHICLE WITH A DEFECT AND SHOULD UPGRADE AND RETROFIT THE ONES PRODUCED WITHOUT THE UPGRADE AND OR PAY FOR THE PURCHASES MADE BY OWNERS TO CORRECT THE ENGINEERING DESIGN DEFECT. FOR THE SAFETY OF EVERYONE.
