Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ROOF PANEL WAS SEPARATING FROM THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EQUIPPED WITH THE FACTORY ROOF, THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V181000 (STRUCTURE:BODY:ROOF AND PILLARS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS THEN MADE AWARE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
