Consumer Description
ISSUE BEGAN JUST AFTER THE WARRANTY PERIOD WAS OVER, IF I TILTED MY STEERING WHEEL UPWARD THE HORN HONKED REPEATEDLY AND HEADLAMPS FLASHED. THEN A WEEK LATER, INTERMITTENTLY SMELL "ELECTRICAL BURN" AND THE A/C BLOWER MOTOR WOULD STOP, THEN START ETC ETC. I REMOVED THE COVERS TO THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE 10 GA. BLUE AND RED WIRES ARE BURNED ALONG WITH THE PLUG / PIGTAIL. IGNITION SWITCH, PIGTAIL AND WIRES WERE EXTREMELY HOT AND MELTING. FIRE IS EMINENT. IGN. SWITCH IS AVAILABLE BUT I WILL BE FORCED TO BUY THE FULL WIRING HARNESS! I HAVE NOT DONE THE REPAIR DUE TO THE FINANCIAL SETBACK FROM A BAD DESIGN. DODGE HAD THIS EXACT CONDITION IN 2000 ON 1994-1996 MODELS, SEE NHTSA CAMPAIGN: 00V135000. THIS IS THE SAME CONDITIONS, HIGH ELECTRICAL CURRENT FROM BLOWER MOTOR ROUTED THRU IGNITION SWITCH INSTEAD OF A RELAY WHEN THE BLOWER IS ON HIGH FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. NO FIRE YET BUT AT THIS RATE THERE WILL BES SOON. *TR
